Barbara Serra is a news presenter and correspondent for Al Jazeera English, where she anchors the main evening news from London.
She has worked for the channel since 2006, when she helped to launch it internationally, and has since presented and reported for Al Jazeera from across Europe, the Middle East and the US. She has anchored key moments of the channel's award-winning coverage of the Arab Spring and its repercussions. Serra also presents documentaries for the channel and regularly hosts Al Jazeera's weekly media review programme The Listening Post.
Prior to joining Al Jazeera, Serra worked for the BBC, Sky News and Channel Five, where she became the first second-language English speaker to present a prime-time news programme on British network television.
