Head of Investigations, The Times
Alexi Mostrous is Head of Investigations at The Times.
After training as a barrister, Monstrous joined the paper in 2007. Following stints in Washington DC and later as The Times' media editor he switched to investigations, spearheading an award-winning series of tax-avoidance scoops in 2012 which revealed that Jimmy Carr, the comedian, and members of Take That, were members of aggressive schemes. In the past year he has run widely-followed investigations into Foreign Aid, Chinese CCTV, digital advertising, Grenfell tower and the F-35 fighter jet. He is a previous winner of News Reporter of the Year and Scoop of the Year at the British press awards.
