Managing Director of theunitlist.com and TV Line Producer, Jude Winstanley, guides you through the essential tools to equip you for a job behind the camera, including the realities of working in TV, writing a CV and job hunting.
11:30-12:15 Beyond the back of the net: Reaching Goals in Sports Production
Join IMG Studios for a guided conversation between key personnel from the company, discussing how they support the production of world-class sporting events and programming for major clients including Premier League Production, Rugby World Cup and European Tour Productions.
Key figures will discuss how they all started their careers, what they see as the future of sports production and broadcast, the unique career opportunities in Live and Post- Produced Sports Production and what opportunities are currently available to budding talent with an interest in a career in sports production and broadcast.
IMG Studios is one of the biggest and most technically advanced hubs purpose built for sports production and distribution in Europe. They house four TV studios, nine live production galleries, over 50 places to edit, three audio dubbing suites, three radio studios and camera hire facilities, and they produce more than 10,000 hours of live sports television per year.
12:30 – 13:15 What it means to be a ‘Creator’ in 2019
Join us to hear from a panel of Facebook and Instagram video creators on; how they got started, what their ‘day job’ is like and what opportunities exist to work with traditional film and television and beyond. This will be a candid discussion about the trials and triumphs of being a ‘Creator’ with time for questions from the audience.
13:30-14:15 The dos and don'ts of starting (and growing) a career in Broadcast Technology
Shaun Wilton, Company Director of Anna Valley (Shooting Partners), outlines approaches, methods and mindsets towards starting and growing a successful career in broadcast technology.
Drawing on his experience from a twenty-year career in television, online media, live events and studio installations, Shaun will explain how some of the most successful projects came together such as Gogglebox, The Voice, X Factor, Britain’s Got Talent. He will also provide a behind the scenes insight into the latest Sky News studios creation and a current multi-million pound media project at the NEC in Birmingham

Edi Smockum, director of thinkBIGGER! and manager and recruiter for a number of entry level schemes, divulges the secrets to getting onto schemes and getting into the industry through non-orthodox ways.
Don't think you need all the connections in the world - Edi will take you through how to sell skills you didn't even know were relevant in TV. This session will be VERY participatory.
