An evening with the production team from BBC One comedy This Country
Doors open 6pm, session starts at 6.30pm. Ends at 8pm
This sublime RTS multi award winning comedy explores the lives of young people in modern rural Britain, focusing on cousins Kerry and Kurtan and their home in the Cotswolds. Written by and starring siblings Daisy May Cooper and Charlie Cooper and filmed in Gloucestershire, it has been described as ‘perfection’ (The Guardian) and ‘hilarious and heartbreaking’ (Radio Times).
This Country launched on BBC Three in 2017, and following rave reviews and over four million BBC iPlayer requests, the BBC renewed the show, with series two hitting our screens in February of this year.
Join us on May 17th at Watershed in Bristol to hear from producer Simon Mayhew-Archer, director Tom George and writer/actor Charlie Cooper. Hosted by Lynn Barlow, RTS Bristol Chair.
This exclusive Royal Television Society Bristol session will deliver the inside track on This Country, looking at the show’s development and creative process, the challenges of making a mockumentary and the secrets of its success.
