Discovery has announced a new series that will search for Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar's lost millions.
Escobar's Millions (working title) will document former CIA case officers Doug and Ben as they search for the alleged hidden treasure of the notorious drug lord using their combined elite skillset.
The investigators will benefit from never-before-granted access and Colombian government support, as well as the latest advancement in GPR (ground-penetrating radar).
A hunt of this magnitude has never been carried out in search of Escobar's assets from his multi-billion dollar powerhouse, the Medellín Cartel, which are widely rumoured to be buried across Colombia and Central America.
The infamous drug lord was allegedly responsible for an estimated 80% of the cocaine smuggled into the United States during his run as leader of the Medellín Cartel and his business and life became the inspiration behind the successful Netflix crime show Narcos.
The investigative documentary series will air later this year.
