Following from the success of 2015’s hit election comedy Ballot Monkeys, Channel 4 have unveiled a new six-part satire called Power Monkeys
The show lampoons the political communication and social media industry, mocking both In and Out EU-referendum campaigners, as well as the Donald Trump media team and the media team at the Kremlin.
Jack Dee and Claire Skinner (Outnumbered) form part of a stellar cast and play part of the pro-Europe ‘Unity Unit’ in Conservative HQ.
Kevin McNally (Pirates of the Caribbean), Gwyneth Keyworth (Game of Thrones, Misfits) and Andy Nyman (Ballot Monkeys) are riding the cross-party Brexit Roadshow bus, occasionally joined by Archie Manjabi (The Good Wife) who flits between pro- and anti-Europe, depending on who she is trying to impress.
The scripted comedy from creators Andy Hamilton and Guy Jenkin (Outnumbered) will be primarily made and aired in one day.
Power Monkeys air on Channel 4 at 10pm beginning 8 June 2016. There is an additional special episode aired on 24 June, following the EU election.
