The year is coming to an end, it is time to remember fondly the past year’s television treats, and look forward to what 2016 will bring in TV entertainment.

 

Lip Sync Battle UK - Channel 5

This American import is being given a very special British makeover. Hosted by former Spice Girl Mel B and rapper Professor Green, the show will have all your favourite celebrities miming their hearts out for the studio audience’s votes.

The Last Leg Roadtrip – Channel 4

The Last Leg Roadtrip sees the team heading Down Under on an extreme roadtrip through the Australian outback. Adam Hills, Josh Widdicombe and Alex Brooker are sent off into some of the toughest conditions around to face crocodiles, feral pigs and biker gangs. Josh Widdicombe said, “I am delighted that Channel 4 gave me the opportunity to confirm my suspicions that Australia is nowhere near as good as the UK."

 

Top Gear – BBC Two

Although not strictly a new show, the BBC's Top Gear reboot launches next year with Radio 2 DJ Chris Evans at the helm. There has been a lot of interest in what the show will look like, however Evans has kept his cards close to his chest. The presenter was recently spotted filming with The Stig, who looks to be making a return tot he new series, but there has been no word about other staples of the show such as the popular Star in a Reasonably Priced Car segment.

Gear Knobs – Amazon Prime Video

Although we do not actually know what the new Clarkson, Hammond and May car show will be called, we do know that the trademark name ‘Gear Knobs’ has been registered by Clarkson’s law firm. However Jeremy Clarkson has explicitly denied on Twitter that Gear Knobs will be the name of the show. So, as always, we have no idea what to expect from the gang, only that they’ll be back next year.

 

Can’t Touch This – BBC One

Can’t Touch This is an gladiator-style game show in the vein of Richard Hammond-fronted Total Wipeout and the popular It’s a Knockout. Ten episodes have been commissioned which will see contestants compete from prizes that they have to touch to collect along the assault course. Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two host Zoe Ball has signed up to host the show with Flawless dancer and BGT winner Ashley Banjo.
