Royal Television Society Midlands Centre, The Writers’ Guild and BBC Birmingham invite you to a special event to be held on Wednesday 21st October at BBC Birmingham in the Mailbox.
Phil Ford has written almost 200 episodes of TV Drama. His work spans popular drama series, and dramas for young people. Together with Russell T Davies, he co-created and executive produced WIZARDS & ALIENS for CBBC and before that was lead writer on the DR WHO spin-off THE SARAH JANE ADVENTURES. He has also written for DOCTOR WHO and TORCHWOOD.
Winner of The Writers’ Guild and Hugo awards; he has also been nominated for three children’s BAFTAs & RTS awards. He worked with Gerry Anderson on the re-imagined CGI version of CAPTAIN SCARLET. He has also written for the popular serial dramas CORONATION STREET, TAGGART, THE BILL, HEARTBEAT, BAD GIRLS, WATERLOO ROAD AND FOOTBALLERS’ WIVES.
Tonight Phil will be in conversation with Joanne Malin. Joanne presents Midlands Today on BBC1 and previously presented for ITV and Sky News. On radio she has worked for Reuters and Virgin and she had her own mid-morning show on BBC WM.
