The RTS Digital Innovation Bursary Scheme encourages the most talented technically minded students to consider a career in television or related digital media. Competition to recruit highly skilled graduates in these fields is strong, and many may be unaware of the career opportunities that the television and digital media industries have to offer.
Applications are open to students with at least two years of undergraduate study remaining, taking any of the following subjects:
- Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM)
- Evolving technology such as artificial intelligence, cyber security, gaming and VFX
- Courses with a digital media content component, where they can demonstrate a passion for the production and distribution of broadcast quality content on digital or social platforms
Successful applicants receive financial support, free RTS membership, events access and mentoring, as well as the chance to gain insight into career opportunities in television, digital media and related industries through the RTS Summer Tour, where they will do a 10 day fully-funded tour of the tech, TV and digital media industries.
Andy Taylor Foundation Scholarship
If you are interested in digital media content production and distribution, your application can be considered for the Andy Taylor Foundation Scholarship in 2025. Andy was a digital pioneer and co-founder of the award winning Little Dot Studios. Andy wanted others to enjoy the career he loved and was an inspiration and mentor to many who followed in his footsteps. You will receive additional support and funding from the foundation, a MacBook and exceptional connections to the digital media industry.

STV Bursaries
STV support up to 2 Digital Innovation bursaries per year, including funding at least one student in Scotland. In addition to financial support and the key benefits of the RTS Bursary Scheme, these scholars also receive work experience at STV Studios and a dedicated STV mentor.
