Sky has announced that murder mystery series Poker Face will premiere on both Sky Max and NOW TV later this month.
The series stars Natasha Lyonne (Russian Doll) as Charlie Cale, a casino worker with an extraordinary ability to immediately detect lies when she hears them.
After Charlie is forced to go on the run from the casino, the series operates in a “case of the week” format, with each episode presenting a new murder mystery she can’t help but solve.
Charlie travels the width and breadth of America in her Plymouth Barracuda, meeting new communities and finding herself magnetised to strange and dangerous places. She’ll need to keep an eye over her shoulder as her own whodunnit mystery tries to catch up with her.
Poker Face is created, written, directed and executive produced by murder mystery maestro Rian Johnson, creator and writer of the Knives Out films on Netflix.
The series features a host of other big names. Adrien Brody (Succession) stars as Sterling Frost Jr., the manager and owner of the casino. Benjamin Bratt (Star) plays the recurring character Cliff LeGrand, Sterling’s head of the security tasked with hunting down Charlie.
Charles Melton (Riverdale), Chloë Sevigny (Big Love), Cherry Jones (Succession), Judith Light (The Politician), Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Mr Corman) also star in episodic narratives.
Jameela Jamil (The Good Place), Simon Helberg (The Big Bang Theory), John Ratzenberger (Cheers), Nick Nolte (Paradise Lost) and Tim Meadows (The Goldbergs) make up the rest of the cast.
After airing earlier in 2023 in the US, Poker Face will be available to watch and stream on Sky Max and NOW TV from Friday 26 May 2023.
