The UK is renowned worldwide for the quality of its film studios, facilities and crews. Capacity has become a major issue due to the growing success and influence of the streamers, with many of them ‘buying up’ much of the capacity at the traditional studios.
This has seen a major expansion in activity by new players looking to create new studios and facilities, fit for the 21st Century requirements of film makers, broadcasters, gaming producers and others.
This RTS Thames Valley event has gathered together some of our industry’s leading experts to bring us up to date with the latest activity and what the plans are for the future. They’ll be discussing the reasons why there is so much focus on the Thames Valley; the types of facility being built and their anticipated use in terms of likely clients or types of production- are they going to offer services and facilities that the more established studios can’t?; what plans are there for training the necessary crews to operate these new facilities; what impact does the growth of remote and virtual production have on the way physical studios and facilities need to operate.
Our panel will be hosted by Christina Nowak, Director of Virtual Production, Anna Valley & SMPTE UK Board Member
