The wider TV industry, with the support of Albert, has made strides in sustainable practices over the last few years. This event looks at whether the TV industry is making a big enough impact on implementing sustainable practices while working in studio production.

How have new TV studios been built to be net carbon neutral? How does studio filming incorporate sustainable practices from the start to end of the production process? How are older studios being adapted? What can we do better?

What does a truly sustainable TV industry should look like? And can we really get there…

This panel session will take a deep dive into TV studio production from crew to guests, carbon emissions and renewable energy sources. Looking at whether the sustainable TV studio of the future is a reality today, or whether there’s more to do and what that might look like.

Panel includes:

Caroline Cooper, Chief Operating Officer, Sky Studios

Steve Smith, Executive Producer & Sustainable Production Consultant, Picture Zero

Michelle Whitehead, Special Projects Manager, Albert

Philip Holdgate, Head of Production Sustainability, ITV Studios

Chairperson: Alex Farber, Deputy Editor, Broadcast
