Using cutting-edge technology, world-class scientific research and unprecedented access, the series will unlock the secrets of the species that make their home in surprising and challenging landscapes around the world.
In three episodes, led by filmmaker and National Geographic Explorer Bertie Gregory, the series unlocks previously untold stories and revelatory behaviours from global penguin societies, held together by unbreakable bonds, strategic behaviours and unwavering tenacity.
Secrets of the Penguins is produced by Talesmith for National Geographic.
It is executive produced by James Cameron, Maria Wilhelm, Ruth Roberts and Martin Williams. The showrunner is Serena Davies.
The new series will be released on the National Geographic channel and Disney+ on Earth Day (22 April) 2025.
