Don’t miss this unique opportunity to explore the world of TV development, meet the people behind some of Britain’s best programmes, and learn practical skills for your first job creating the TV of tomorrow.
Ideas are the lifeblood of TV. But what makes an idea good for television? How do you respond to and build on what channels and audiences want to see? What does a job in development involve for someone new to TV? And how does an idea make it from a scribble in a notebook to screens everywhere? Our next skills-based RTS Futures event introduces the world of Development.
We’ll be joined by some of the industry’s brightest and best Development producers – the people whose job it is to come up with the next big hit. After a panel Q&A explaining the ins and outs of the Development business, RTS Future members will get a rare chance to take part in a brainstorming exercise with the producers. You’ll be guided through the practical processes used to respond to a brief and develop an idea – not to mention get the opportunity to have your suggestions heard by the experts. Members will also meet the researchers working with the producers on a day to day basis and hear what their job involves, and how they got their start in Development.
