Keith Nicholas and Kevin Shaw of BBC S&PP compare techniques and results between 405 line tele-recording and UHD 4k mastering. Using examples including David Attenborough's Life on Earth, and Winston Churchill's funeral, the presentation will look at how media is preserved and how popular and cult TV series have been remastered. We will look at the difference between re-creating an historical experience for a modern audience and re-mastering legacy assets for the next generation.
