Zai Bennett
Zai was appointed as Managing Director of Content, Sky UK and Ireland, in June 2019. He is responsible for Sky’s portfolio of entertainment, cinema and kids’ services.
This includes Sky’s leading entertainment brands Sky Showcase, Sky Max, Sky Atlantic, Sky Witness and Sky Comedy; its factual services Sky Crime, Sky Nature, Sky Documentaries, and Sky Arts, the UK’s only channel dedicated to arts and culture. Zai is also responsible for Sky’s world leading home film service, Sky Cinema and Sky’s children’s programming in Sky Kids, as well as Sky’s free to air portfolio.
Alongside the commissioning team he is responsible for Sky’s award-winning slate of original programming such as Gangs of London, Chernobyl, I Hate Suzie and Liverpool Narcos as well as recent hits like This England, The Baby, Brassic and Rob and Rom vs. His remit also includes overseeing Sky’s leading slate of US content, including The Last of Us, Succession and House of the Dragon.
Prior to his current role he was Director of Programmes and previously Director of Sky Atlantic. Before joining Sky, Zai was Controller of BBC Three for three years, joining after 12 years at ITV where he was Director of Digital Channels and Acquisitions and Controller of ITV 2.
Nikki Bedi
Nikki Bedi is an international television and radio broadcaster with a passion for making arts and culture accessible. She’s been favourably described as a ‘culture courier who is decolonising the world one show at a time’.
Nikki currently curates, writes and presents The Arts Hour on the BBC World Service which once a month becomes The Arts Hour on Tour, a show that travels across the globe to different countries.
On BBC Radio 4 she presents Saturday Live every weekend and over on our televisions she can currently be seen travelling the globe for the new BBC World News series Encounter Culture. She’s the first person to speak in Hindi as a panellist on QI and in her spare time, watches inordinate amounts of TV.
