Covid-19 brought most productions to a halt in March 2020, and with the added pressure of Isle of Man borders remaining closed for an indefinite period, just how did an Island-based production company continue to deliver live sports events?

We catch up with company directors of Isle of Man based production company Greenlight Television to discover the drastic changes they have had to make to their production techniques in order to continue to deliver their services to clients and broadcasters across the globe.

Headquartered on the Isle of Man since 1995, and with production offices in Manchester and the USA, Greenlight Television are well known on the Island for covering the TT and Southern 100 motorcycle road races for ITV4.

In the midst of the global Coronavirus pandemic, Greenlight had to rethink its approach to production in order to continue to deliver high quality programming, under lock-down conditions. Continually innovating has been a key to Greenlight’s success and when the USA Trans Am Series by Pirelli presented Greenlight with the conundrum of livestreaming their race without the usual high costs of a full OB Unit, associated crew and of course travel, they went back to the drawing board and thought about an entirely new approach to live production.

RTS Isle of Man Centre’s Paul Moulton is joined by Rob Hurdman and David Beynon for this early evening event, getting under the skin of a rapidly changing industry and discovering just how important it is to adapt and innovate in order to sustain a business in these challenging times.

The discussion will be followed by a Q&A and you are welcome to submit questions during the Zoom webinar in the Q&A box.
