At our Awards ceremony in February, Fiona Armstrong was given an 'Outstanding Contribution' award for her lifetime in television, most of which has been closely associated with her native Border Television.

To follow her career experiences further, we (in partnership with The University of Cumbria Institute of the Arts) are having an 'Audience with...' event at the Stanwix Theatre, University of Cumbria, CA3 9AY on Thursday October 12th.  Hosted by John Myers, this event looks back at Fiona’s extensive career in the media and will feature extracts of footage held in the ITV Border Archive.

The evening starts at 1800, with a drinks reception kindly sponsored by Cartmell Shepherd.  Donations, in lieu of an entry fee, will be requested on the night with proceeds to the Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice, of which Fiona Armstrong is a Patron.  To obtain your free ticket please register for An Evening with Fiona Armstrong before Tuesday 10th October 2017.  Tickets will be made available to the general public from Friday 29 September 2017 so early booking would be advisable.

There will be free buses leaving the Teesside University Campus at 1600, and Newcastle City Centre at 1700 (exact locations to be confirmed).  To register for this transport, please send an email to Victoria Griffin with the subject header ‘Fiona Armstrong Transport’.

For any queries about the evening, please contact: eventsioa@cumbria.ac.uk or telephone Karen Jones on 01228 400301.
