Who’s singing on X Factor: Celebrity?

X Factor returns to screens this autumn with a new celebrity twist.

This series, wannabe popstars looking for their big break will be replaced by celebrities who will sing their hearts out to try and impress the judges.

The line-up includes reality stars, soap stars, models and sporting stars, with Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger joining Simon Cowell on the judging panel.

Cowell is serious about finding a new singing sensation among the celebrities, with a record deal on offer for the winner.

Meet the contestants who are hoping to become the next X Factor champion.

 

The Islanders

It’s a Love Island 2018 reunion, with former contestants Wes Nelson, Zara McDermott, Eyal Booker and Samira Mighty forming a supergroup for the competition.

Booker already knows a thing or two about performing in a pop group, having been a member of pop band EverYoung before his stint in Love Island.

Mighty is also known for starring in the West End musical Dreamgirls and has a musical theatre background making her a perfect contender.

 

Megan McKenna

Reality star turned singer Megan McKenna is serious about forging a career in music.

The former TOWIE star is currently trying to make a name for herself as a country singer, with her single High Heeled Shoes topping the Country Music Chart in 2017.

McKenna also performed at the British Summer Time Festival in 2018, but first made a name for herself back in 2009 when she made the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent.

McKenna is no stranger to the glare of TV cameras with previous TV credits including Celebs Go Dating, Celebrity Big Brother and her own show There’s Something About Megan.

 

Brendan Cole and Jeremy Edwards

Former Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Brendan Cole has teamed up with Hollyoaks and Holby City actor Jeremy Edwards.

The pair have been friends for over ten years and will be hoping that their harmonies set the judges alight. 

 

Olivia Olson

Child star Olivia Olson famously played Joanna in rom-com Love Actually where she sang Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas, and she has continued singing ever since.

She has also forged a career in voice-over acting for kids’ TV, including the Disney series Phineas and Ferb.

 

Hayley Hasselhoff

The daughter of David Hasselhoff, Hayley Hasselhoff, knows how to handle the limelight.

The actress and model is known for appearing in TV series Huge and walking the runways of major fashion shows, having been a plus size model since she was 14.

She was once part of a band called Bella Vida with her sister Taylor, but this time she’ll be going solo.

 

Jenny Ryan

Quick-witted quiz champion Jenny Ryan is better known to viewers as The Vixen from game show The Chase.

This time it will be her singing, not her general knowledge, that is put to the test.

 

Jonny Labey

Former EastEnders star Jonny Labey is ready to swap learning lines for learning lyrics.

Not only can he sing – something he proved while appearing in stage shows In the Heights and Strictly Ballroom: The Musical – but he can also dance.

He won the first series of ITV’s Dance Dance Dance back in 2017.

 

Kevin McHale

Best known for playing Artie in hit TV series Glee, Kevin McHale will be going solo in his attempt to be crowned X Factor champion.

Prior to Glee, McHale was part of the boyband NLT and has also hosted E4 entertainment show Virtually Famous.

 

Max and Harvey

Sixteen-year-old twins Max and Harvey Mills rose to fame after going viral on the social media app Tik Tok.

They have since published a book and produced a documentary chronicling their careers and personal lives.

They currently host their own CBBC TV show Max and Harvey: FOMO and boast a huge social media following of over eight million followers.

 

Try Star


Thom Evans, Levi Davis and Ben Foden (Credit: ITV)

The rugby supergroup is comprised of sporting heavyweights Thom Evans, Levi Davis and Ben Foden.

When Evans was a teenager, he was member of the pop group Twen2y4se7en, supporting Peter Andre, Westlife and McFly.

His performing prowess doesn’t end there, back in 2014 he also competed in Strictly Come Dancing but was the fourth celebrity to be eliminated.

Evans is not the only one with previous singing experience, Davis was a member of the group Majesti and plans to release music as a solo artist later this year.

 

Martin Bashir

Broadcast journalist Martin Bashir shot to prominence in the 1990s when he interviewed Princess Diana about her separation from Prince Charles.

He later interviewed the five suspects involved in the Stephen Lawrence case and musician Michael Jackson, in the now infamous ITV documentary.

 

Victoria Ekanoye

Actress Victoria Ekanoye is best known for her role as Angie Appleton on the soap Coronation Street.

Ekanoye has plenty of stage experience with previous roles in West End shows such as The Lion King and The Blues Brothers.

The Latin American girl group made up of social media influencers Sofia, Laura, Alondra, Wendii and Natalie already have a huge fanbase, with 11 million followers between them.

Will their following be enough to help them secure the title of X Factor champions?

 

Ricki Lake

TV presenter and actress Ricki Lake is best known for her lead role as Tracy Turnblad in the musical Hairspray.

She was also the host of the long-running talk show The Ricki Lake Show, which earned her an Emmy Award for Outstanding Talk Show Host.
