The series follows the fictionalised life of comedian couple Jon Richardson (8 Out of 10 Cats) and Lucy Beaumount, offering a look into the frustrations and foibles that come with their married life in Yorkshire.

The second series of Meet the Richardsons, written by Lucy Beaumont and Tim Reid (Car Share), will explore with increasing hilarity the conflict between Jon and Lucy’s private life and their career, as well as offering a window into how they’ve been coping during lockdown.

Speaking on the announcement, Beaumont joked: “So glad to be getting paid to have an argument again, lockdown has been weird living with someone who has spent his life practising social distancing and frequent handwashing - if the government advise wearing beige cardigans and being a tedious grump I know something has been going on.”

The two Christmas specials will air on Dave later this year, while the full second series will be released in 2021.
