This week on TV, Holly Walsh's comedy The Other One returns for a second series, while the new crime drama DI Ray starring Parminder Nagra heads to ITV.
Parminder Nagra leads Maya Sondhi’s new crime drama as Detective Rachita Ray, who earns a long-awaited promotion when she is asked to join a homicide investigation.
However, when she discovers the murder is a ‘culturally specific homicide’, she is forced to confront a lifelong battle between her British identity and South Asian heritage. Fearing she may have been brought on to the case because of her ethnicity rather than her ability, DI Ray becomes determined to find the killer and call out the biases of her colleagues, neither of which is an easy task.
