Take That star Howard Donald will be joined by racing expert Dario Franchitti to present the Channel 4 show Mission Ignition.
The series will see two teams of amateur car fanatics, led by Donald and Franchitti competing for the chance to drive away their dream car. The only catch? They’ll have to rebuild it first.
Petrol-head Donald famously gave up his job as a panel beater to find fame and fortune with boyband Take That in 1989. He is also know for his extensive collection of classic cars.
In recent years, he has returned to his first love by becoming a racing driver. He commented, “I've always loved classic cars, so the opportunity to be involved in Mission Ignition and see these historic cars rebuilt is fantastic." Since beginning his racing career he has competed at renowned race tracks such as Le Mans and Silverstone.
Howard Donald is joined by three time Indianapolis 500 winner and four-time IndyCar Series champion Dario Franchitti, who will lead the second team.
In each episode two classic cars will be dismantled and the teams will compete to put them back together, with the first team to turn on the engine getting to keep the car.
Alongside the technical side drama of the build, the show will also take a nostalgic look at the history of the cars being rebuilt.
