ITV has released its first trailer for new drama Passenger.

In the sleepy northern town of Chadder Vale, Katie Wells goes missing. Then, she comes back. Most of the villagers are content all’s well that ends well, except one.

Police officer Riya Ajunwa is relatively new in town, having been here for five years after a decade-long stint in the Met. Bored of investigating bins, she smells something fishy in Wells’s disappearance. As a series of devastating and unnatural crimes begin to be committed, her suspicions are confirmed. However, several questions remain unanswered.

What starts out as another day in the middle of nowhere begins to tug at the very fabric of a close-knit community. Chaddar Vale is not a town accustomed to the unknown. As things get stranger and stranger, the villagers may have no choice but to face their fears.

The six-part series stars Wunmi Mosaku (Our Loved Boy) as Riya and Rowan Robinson (So Awkward) as Katie. Also in the cast are Jo Hartley (In My Skin), Debbie Rush (Coronation Street), Sean Gilder (The Gold), Daniel Ryan (The Bay) and Nico Mirallegro (My Mad Fat Diary).

The show will air on ITV1 and be available on ITVX in April 2024. It will also appear on Britbox International later in the year.
