Sky Original series Upright will return for a second series.

Actor, musician and comedian Tim Minchin and Milly Alcock will return as Lucky and Meg in the comedy drama.

Minchin will once again co-write, star and compose music for the new eight-part series.

Series one saw the two misfits form an unexpected friendship in the middle of the Australian Outback as Lucky travelled 4000km from Sydney to Perth.

The second series sees the odd pair head for the steamy tropics of Far North Queensland, ready to hit the road and river on a new mission.

Tim Minchin commented: “The experience of making Upright was such a joy, and audience reactions from all over the world were so incredibly positive and moving, we knew we had to send Meg and Lucky on another adventure.

“There’s a lot of story still to tell, and such a fantastic team of people lined up to tell it.”

Filming for the second series of Upright will begin in Queensland in 2022 and series one is available to watch on Sky on demand and NOW.
