Hollywood star Seth Rogen's comic book-based Preacher is to air exclusively in the UK on Amazon Prime.
Preacher is adapted from a comic book published by DC comics' adult arm Vertigo. Set in Texas, the show stars UK actors Dominic Cooper and Joseph Gilgun alongside Ruth Negga
The story follows Jesse Custer (Cooper), a preacher who gains supernatural powers when he finds his body inhabited by a mysterious entity called Genesis. He is joined on his unconventional journey by vampire Cassidy (Gilgun) and assassin Tulip (Negga).
Seth Rogen, of Knocked Up and Superbad fame, has produced the drama series with long-time collaborator Evan Goldberg and Breaking Bad's Sam Catlin is the showrunner.
“Preacher is one of the most ambitious and highly-anticipated new series of the year,” said Brad Beale, vice president of worldwide television acquisition for Amazon.
“Sitting alongside shows like The Man in the High Castle, Transparent and the upcoming Clarkson, Hammond and May show, The Grand Tour, Preacher is another great addition to our line-up and we think our customers are going to love it.”
Preacher starts on Monday 23rd May, with a two-week gap before being made available every Monday on Amazon Prime.
