Dame Harriet Walter (Succession) and Danny Sapani (The Crown) have joined the third series of Killing Eve as the show goes into production.

Based on the Codename Villanelle novels by Luke Jennings, the third installment of the award-winning spy thriller continues from the explosive second series finale.

After a surprising betrayal by Carolyn Martens (Fiona Shaw), Eve Polastri (Sandra Oh) is shot by assassin Villanelle (Jodie Comer) and left for dead in Rome.

Fear The Walking Dead writer Suzanne Heathcote will serve as lead writer and executive producer for the series, alongside returning executive producers Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Sally Woodward Gentle, Lee Morris, Gina Mingacci, Damon Thomas and Sandra Oh, with Jeff Melvoin (Designated Survivor) also joining the team.

Sid Gentle Films Ltd will continue to produce Killing Eve for BBC America with the third series being distributed by Endeavor Content.

The first and second series of Killing Eve are available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
