Olivia Colman (The Favourite) will return to The Night Manager as Angela Burr, handler of Jonathan Pine, the eponymous manager played by Tom Hiddleston (Loki).

Also returning for the second series of the spy thriller is Alistair Petrie (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) as Sandy Langbourne. In the first series, Langbourne assisted arms dealer and principal antagonist Dicky Roper (Hugh Laurie).

Douglas Hodge (Black Mirror) will be making a comeback as Rex Mayhew, as well as Michael Nardone (Line of Duty) as Frisky and Noah Jupe (A Quiet Place) as Daniel Roper.

The first series followed Pine as he became entangled with Dicky Roper. It ended with Pine on top, and Roper in the back of a police van commandeered by aggrieved business associates. The show was recently co-commissioned for a second and third series by the BBC and Prime Video.

“Olivia Colman’s award-winning role as Angela Burr in the first series of The Night Manager was unforgettable and we are over the moon that she is back alongside Tom Hiddleston,” said Lindsay Salt, director of BBC Drama. “The second series of The Night Manager promises to provide even more drama, glamour, intrigue and suspense.”

Filming begins this month, with shooting taking place in London.
