Nominations announced for RTS Television Journalism Awards 2017

The RTS has revealed the nominees for the Television Journalism Awards ahead of the ceremony in London on 1 March. 

CNN International, Sky News and BBC News are in the mix to fight it out to be named News Channel of the Year, whilst Murder of Jo Cox (ITV), the Brussels Terror Attack (Sky News) and Battle for Mosul - 48 Hours (CNN International) will battle it out for the Breaking News Award.

Victoria Derbyshire has already secured a nomination for Daily News Programme, but she is also up for Network Presenter of the Year, which is the second year in a row that she's been nominated.

Young Talent of the Year is among the categories being recognised, with Adam Cole (Sky News), James Longman (Victoria Derbyshire Programme) and Waad al-Kateab (Channel 4) all nominated.

The awards will be hosted by Barbara Serra, who is a broadcast journalist and TV newsreader working on Al Jazeera English.

The RTS Television Journalism Awards are chaired by Stewart Purvis CBE. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on Wednesday 1 March 2017 at the London Hilton, Park Lane. For more information about the awards event and to book, click here
