Disney announce host of new animated programming for its channels.

The new content includes a modern animated series inspired by One Hundred and One Dalmatians, an animated space comedy, a dinosaur adventure series, and the return of hit shows DuckTales and Star Vs The Forces of Evil.

101 Dalmation Street, Disney Channel

A brand new eleven-part series will air next year on Disney Channel based on the Dodie Smith novel and Walt Disney film One Hundred and One Dalmatians.

Set in 21st century London, 101 Dalmation Street follows the adventures pups Dylan and Dolly, their 97 younger siblings and Dalmation parents Doug and Deliah.

Head of Animation Orion Ross commented, “We’re incredibly excited about this fresh new take on a beloved Disney classic.”

He added, “There’s a big old-fashioned house at number 101 Dalmatian Street where a huge family of 101 dogs live all by themselves, without a human owner, setting up the biggest, messiest and furriest family comedy you could ever imagine.”

Space Chickens in Space, Disney XD

Disney XD will broadcast new animated series Space Chickens in Space, which follows three chickens who are wrongly enrolled into an elite space military academy.

The comedy will see the unlikely trio taken on a hilarious intergalactic journey of mishaps and mayhem and will debut on Disney XD in 2018.

Gigantosaurus is based on the book of the same name that follows the adventures of four young dinosaur friends on the hunt for the mysterious Gigantosaurus dinosaur, the biggest dinosaur anyone has ever seen.

On their journey to discover the secret of legendary dinosaur, Mazu, Tiny, Bill and Rocky will find out they all have something to learn from him too.

Gigantosaurus will air on Disney Junior in 2019.

As well as the new commissions, it was confirmed that hit series PJ Masks and Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir have both been renewed and will return to screens in 2018.
