Lycett will broadcast live from Birmingham alongside local legends, LGBTQ+ heroes and celebrities.
RTS Award-winning comedian and presenter Joe Lycett will present a new weekly Friday night comedy show live from his hometown of Birmingham.
The Joe Lycett Live Show (working title) will see the comedian review the week with the help of his community of local legends, LGBTQ+ heroes and allies, and famous faces from the worlds of comedy, television, music and film. A different group will join him each Friday.
The announcement comes following the success of Joe Lycett's Big Pride Party, the live show celebrating 50 years of Pride in Birmingham which aired on Channel 4 in 2022.
Speaking on the announcement, Lycett said: “I’m absolutely psyched and naturally very nervous about hosting a weekly live show from Birmingham, but it has been a dream of mine for many years and I look forward to some (controlled) late night chaos.”
According to Channel 4, the series has "inclusivity and fun at its heart," and should bring Lycett's trademark mischief and mayhem—as well as a touch of Hollywood glitz and glam—to Digbeth.
Emily Hudd, joint MD at Rumpus Media, co-producers of the series alongside My Options Were Limited, said: “We are so excited that Joe is hosting this series from the centre of his universe – Birmingham – creating a truly inclusive show to which everyone is invited.
"It’s a weekly celebration uniquely curated by Joe that harnesses both his mischief but also his warmth - it will be funny, silly and explicitly Joe Lycett.”
