Sky Atlantic’s hit dark comedy-drama I Hate Suzie will return for a second series.
The series, created by Lucy Prebble and Billie Piper, follows the unravelling of the titular Suzie (Piper), an actress who becomes the victim of a phone hack where her intimate pictures are leaked online.
The series also starred Leila Farzad (Innocent) as Suzie’s best friend turned manager Naomi, Daniel Ings (The Crown) as Suzie’s husband Cob and Nathaniel Martello-White (Small Axe) as Carter, the director who is revealed to be having a passionate affair with Suzie.
The eight-part series followed Suzie through a different stage of grief, as her life, relationships and career were suddenly upended.
Speaking to the RTS ahead of the series’ initial launch last August, Prebble said: “What I was really interested in was less so the criminal investigation into a technological hacking, but how it affected [the victims] psychologically: their relationships, their work, and what it meant for them on a personal level.”
The second series of I Hate Suzie will commence filming in 2022.
