Series three of Netflix’s drama-comedy Ginny & Georgia is officially in progress, after postponing due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strikes.
Antonia Gentry (Candy Jar) and Brianne Howey (The Exorcist) star as Georgia and Ginny, a mother-daughter duo who have had to move across America, chased by Georgia’s unknown past.
Being raised by a teen-mother on the run hasn’t always been easy for 16-year-old Ginny and she suffers with her mental health whilst trying to navigate relationships and a new high school. Georgia soon meets the new love of her life, Paul Randolph (Scott Porter, Hart of Dixie), who just so happens to be the town mayor.
The series was commissioned for a third and fourth series back in May 2023, however due to the strikes it was unclear as to when filming would commence, leaving fans waiting for a new series since January 2023.
This was especially agonizing due to the explosive finale of series two which, *spoilers ahead*, saw Georgia smothering a terminally ill man with a pillow in order to free his family from any more pain. Unfortunately for Georgia, the police already had an eye on her due to the mysterious death of her ex-husband, so her fairy-tale marriage to Paul was interrupted by her arrest.
Returning cast include Diesel La Torraca (Unsung Hero), who plays Ginny’s little brother Austin, Sara Waisglass (Degrassi) as Max, Felix Mallard (Turtles All the Way Down) as Marcus, Katie Douglas (Pretty Hard Cases) as Abby, Chelsea Clark (The Protector) as Norah, and Nathan Mitchell (The Boys) as Ginny’s dad Zion.
Ginny & Georgia will air on Netflix with no release date yet set.
