First look images have been released by the BBC and Amazon Studios for Stephen Merchant’s series The Outlaws (previously The Offenders).
Starring Academy Award-winning actor Christopher Walken (The Deer Hunter) in his first lead role on British television, The Outlaws will also feature performances from writer and director Stephen Merchant (The Office), Rhianne Barreto (Honour), Gamba Cole (Hanna), Darren Boyd (Killing Eve), Clare Perkins (EastEnders), Eleanor Tomlinson (Poldark), Jessica Gunning (Back) and Charles Babalola (Bancroft).
Set in Bristol, The Outlaws follows seven strangers from wildly different walks of life, brought together to complete a Community Payback sentence in Bristol. Part thriller, part character study, the six-part series explores how no one is all good or all bad.
Each with their own story, the ramshackle group form unlikely friendships that intersect with their complicated private lives. When one of the group of ‘outlaws’ comes into trouble with Bristol’s most dangerous criminal gang, the crew must rally together to protect one of their own.
The Outlaws will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer this Autumn in the UK and will later stream internationally on Amazon Prime Video.
