Much-loved children’s TV show HOW is returning with brand new presenters Vick Hope, Sam Homewood, Frankie Vu and previous HOW host Fred Dinenage.
The new series has taken the classic show and adapted it for a new digital generation aimed at the 6-10-year-old age group.
TV and radio presenter Vick Hope has made a name for herself as a backstage presenter for X Factor in 2019 and is a former Capital Breakfast presenter, she has also presented Crufts, The Voice UK, Trending Live and FYI Daily. Hope was also a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing in 2018 and is also a published author and journalist.
Sam Homewood has presented many programmes for both adults and kids, including the CITV flagship weekend breakfast show for kids Scrambled. He presented Use Your Voice Live, which was an online campaign to encourage and show young people the benefits of voting in the last election.
Frankie Vu is known for his fun and intelligent TV presenting, with interests in tech and music, Vu has worked as a live sports presenter and is a regular presenter on CBBC and Disney XD. Part of his work for Disney Channel US has seen Vu take viewers behind the scenes of some of Disney’s latest blockbusters in the series Movie Surfers.
Fred Dinenage MBE is an integral part of HOW, having appeared in all three versions. In 2014, the presenter, broadcaster and author celebrated his 50th anniversary as a reporter and presenter with ITV. Dinenage has presented shows such as Pass the Buck, Tell the Truth, World of Sport, Gambit and made an appearance on Tiswas, plus he has presented the regional news in the south for ITV for 36 years.
The series will follow the presenters in and out of the studio, going behind the scenes and revealing entertaining, surprising and informational facts and hacks.
HOW is partially funded by BFI’s Young Audience Content Fund and produced by Terrific Television.
Terrific Television founders, Nic and Driana commented: "We are keeping the DNA of HOW, which everyone loved, and making it contemporary. HOW is simply the best factual show and children still have the same thirst for knowledge today about how to do things as when the original show started in 1966.”
Vick Hope said: “I remember watching HOW2 growing up, so it’s pretty cool to be taking over where absolute legend Carol Vorderman left off! I love science, chemical reactions and the odd massive explosion, so not only is the show educational, but it’s super fun.”
Fred Dinenage added: “Having appeared in every one of the hundreds of HOW? and HOW2 programmes over more than thirty years, I am thrilled to be a part of the new series of HOW. The wheel will have turned full circle!
“I am now just about the happiest tv presenter in Britain - though also, sadly, one of the oldest! But my energy and enthusiasm are undimmed - and so is my desire to show, once again, younger viewers - HOW!”
HOW will air on CITV and ITV next month.
