New images have been released for the new series of Waterloo Road, featuring Angela Griffin, Adam Thomas and Katie Griffiths.
Waterloo Road originally aired from 2006 to 2015 and was known for its entertaining and engaging human stories that tackled difficult and important issues.
Angela Griffin will be returning as Kim Campbell, who is now the headteacher at Waterloo Road, Adam Thomas will return as Donte Charles and Katie Griffiths will return as Chlo Charles, both former students at the school.
The series gained a new, young and diverse audience, adding to the loyal fanbase, when the boxset was added to BBC iPlayer in September 2019.
Angela Griffin commented: “I feel really honoured to be joining the new series of Waterloo Road. It is exciting to be stepping back into Kim’s shoes and I can’t wait to explore her life, character and how she has evolved since we last met her.”
Adam Thomas said: “Waterloo Road was a huge part of my life and career so to go back 15 years later is a dream come true. I feel so blessed to have been given this opportunity to get back to acting and doing what I love! I can’t wait to see some old faces and some new.”
Katie Griffiths added: “I am incredibly excited to be returning to Waterloo Road - loved by all who make and watch it! I can't wait to see what stories unfold!”
Waterloo Road will start shooting in Greater Manchester next month, with the full cast to be announced soon.
