ITV's longest-running daytime show (35 years), This Morning, is starting a new chapter with some new additions to its presenting line-up.
Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley will replace Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, who both departed the show in 2023, as main presenters in the Monday to Thursday slot.
Shephard is a familiar face to ITV, having presented the channel's former breakfast programme GMTV, its quiz show Tipping Point from 2012, and co-hosting Good Morning Britain.
The same goes for Deeley, who co-presented ITV children's show SMTV Live (1998-2002) before crossing the pond to present the American reality show So You Think You Can Dance from its second season (2006-), for which she has been nominated five times for a Primetime Emmy.
This Morning announced the news via a promotional video on its social media pages. The video saw Shephard strolling down the familiar production corridor before hanging a new photo of Deeley on the wall, alongside their fellow presenters Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond, who host the show on Fridays.
“For the last ten years,” says Shephard, “I’ve been waking up with our ITV daytime audience on GMB and I now look forward to spending time with Cat, welcoming the viewers home after the school run or from their early morning routines, with a cup of tea and a mix of everything that makes This Morning so loved.”
Deeley added: “This Morning is a national institution. Whenever it’s on, it’s like having your friends over - funny, smart, silly, heartfelt, informative and joyful - like all the greatest friendships!
“This Morning is and always will be the viewer’s show. Ben and I both know how much people love it, and with the help of an amazing team of people, we’re going to do our best to take care of it.”
This Morning airs weekdays from 10.00am on ITV and ITVX. Shephard and Deeley will both make their debuts in March 2024.
