UKTV has announced a new six-part drama for Alibi written by Gaby Hull (Cheat).
We Hunt Together is the second joint commission between BBC Studios and UKTV.
Former child soldier, Babeni (Baba) struggles to suppress his violent urges but when his friend Freddy is attacked following a date gone wrong, Baba is forced to take drastic action, setting the pair on a murderous rampage.
DI Lola Franks and DCI Jackson Reid try to outsmart the duo, but their ethics will be tested with their conflicting views on the culpability of the criminal mind.
The six-part thriller was commissioned by Philippa Collie Cousins, drama commissioner at UKTV and will be produced by BBC Studios.
“I was so gripped by Gaby’s writing,” said Collie Cousins.
“We Hunt Together is a fresh, funny and dark roller coaster ride with filmic undertones that provide echoes of early Hitchcock or Tony Scott’s True Romance and takes the genre one step further.”
Hilary Salmon, Executive Producer at BBC Studios added: “It’s fantastic to be working with Gaby and UKTV on this daring new drama about what happens when two damaged people collide and act out dormant compulsions.
“It promises to explore the intoxication of sexual attraction and the dangerous power of emotional manipulation, not one for the faint-hearted.”
The six-part thriller will air in 2020 exclusively on Alibi.
