Jasmine Dotiwala is a Producer, director, broadcaster and columnist
Jasmine started at Channel 4 as a runner and floor assistant on The Big Breakfast, then as a presenter on nineties youth cult show The Word, before becoming an MTV News presenter for MTV Europe. Jasmine continued to be the woman in front of the camera as well as behind, and became Senior Producer-Director for many of MTV International’s flagship TV shows from Making the Video, MTV Cribs, Diary of ... and MTV News Specials.
After 10 years at MTV International Jasmine was heading up MTV Dance and MTV Base production.
In 2009 Jasmine left MTV Networks International after 13 years to return to Channel 4 Music Specials where her first project was the T4 Music - A Mariah Special and other similar music, youth, entertainment TV projects for Channel 4 including The Word 20 Year Anniversary Special.
In 2010 Jasmine produced and directed ITV’s new music strand One Night Stand. In 2011 Jasmine moved across to the BBC where she worked with the BBC Music department developing new music content programming.
Jasmine has been a print columnist for many years writing for a variety of publications including The Voice, Vibe magazine, Eastern Eye, Touch magazine, the Daily Mail and Caribbean fashion glossy Ocean Style.
Jasmine wrote a long standing ‘’Girl Talk’’ column for urban music magazines ‘Touch’ and ‘Tense’. Jasmine hosted a weekly drive time radio slot aptly titled ‘ Jasmines Juice’ once a week on urban music station ‘Choice FM-96.9FM’ and also blogged on Huffington Post UK.
She is also a committee member on The Brits Diversity panel, MOBO Industry Panel, The Cultural TV Diversity Network, and MTV Europe Diversity Council and is involved in a number of charities including the African Caribbean Leukemia Trust.
Currently Jasmine is Exec Producer of London Undercover, a series that airs on SKY, Virgin (Community Channel) and London Live, made by young Londoners she trains in reporting skills at Media Trust.
Jasmine produces at the annual MTV Awards (EMA’s), and also reports for Channel 4 News features and writes on The Source Magazine digital platform.
