Devon and Cornwall - one of the most beautiful parts of the UK but in the past perhaps not the first port of call for TV programme makers and commissioners. Lockdown has changed all that. Channel 4’s Devon and Cornwall series made by True North has been pulling in record audiences of over 2 million for the first in series. South West indies have felt the benefit with a raft of commissions with series like Twofour’s Cornwall and Devon Walks with Julia Bradbury featuring on ITV . There’s also been hard-hitting programming like the two part Cornwall with Simon Reeve (Beagle Media for BBC Two ) showing a side of the Duchy tourists rarely see.
So why are films based down here now so popular and will this welcome trend continue? Join Twofour Director of Programmes Rachel Innes-Lumsden and Beagle Media CEO Harry Anscombe in a webinar coming up with some answers - and we hope predicting a bright future for programme making in the sunny South West .
