Two new factual services, Sky Documentaries and Sky Nature, have been announced by Sky.

In response to research that factual shows are now the second most popular genre after drama, the two new channels will offer hundreds of hours of factual programming, ranging from acquired content to premium, original commissions.

Sky Documentaries

From feature length documentaries to TV series, Sky Documentaries will showcase award-winning film makers of real-life stories, such as HBO, SHOWTIME and Sky original documentaries.

Upcoming launches include Tiger Woods: The Comeback, McMillions and Bitter Pill: Primodos.

Sky Nature

Sky Nature will dedicate its programming to exploring the wonderous beauty of the natural world, with breath-taking natural history programming that aims to inspire viewers to do more to protect planet Earth.

The channel will feature Sky’s existing David Attenborough collection, as well as Sky’s landmark original series including their Love Nature programming.

New Sky originals will include Extreme Animals: One Wild Day and Extreme Animals: Life’s First Steps.

Both channels will launch in the Spring and will be available on linear and on-demand Sky services, as well as NOW TV via the Entertainment Pass.
