NOMINEES:
The Dumping Ground — 'Farvel', CBBC Productions
Vera — 'The Blanket Mire', ITV Studios
The Judges said:
We felt that 'Farvel' was an especially good episode, with a coherent narrative dealing well with complex diversity storyline issues. An excellent performance from Akuc Bol. 'The Blanket Mire' was set in good landscape and well shot — the coherent storyline was intelligent, more subtle and well placed.
But the 'Inspector George Gently' episode was outstanding — beautifully shot, with strong characterisation in a big and complex story, with excellent performances from the cast, especially Martin Shaw and Lee Ingleby.
