Sacha Mirzoeff is a filmmaker and Executive Producer who specialises in both social issue and natural history documentaries, usually shot over a long period of time. He’s driven by using the opportunity to make films to change real life situations. For the last 4 years he's looked after the documentary output of BBC Bristol, but is now freelance again.
He’s won over 15 international awards – including a Grierson Award for best documentary series, a Royal Television Society award for best directorand has been nominated for several BAFTAs. Films/series include 'Protecting our Children' (about child protection social workers), 'Charles Darwin and The Tree of Life' (with David Attenborough); 'Elsa, the Lioness that Saved the World', 'Wild Canada' and most recently 'Drugsland'.
