Event Summary
Ealing Studios is the oldest film studio centre in the world. It occupies a very special place in the history of British cinema and television that ranges from Passport to Pimlico to The Singing Detective. Best known for the post war Ealing Comedies it was also for forty years the home of the BBC Film Unit with the sound stages used for everything from Porridge to Colditz.
Ealing Studios now provides facilities for independents and major international productions as well as commercials and promos and is currently undergoing a multi-million pound redevelopment. It is also the only independent British studio developing, financing and producing feature films for international distribution with productions including St. Trinians II and Dorian Gray.
The owners of Ealing Studios have agreed to provide the RTS London Centre with a unique opportunity to visit and tour the studios and see both its wealth of history and how it is now developing into a complete 21st century facility for both film and television.
The visit will include a guided tour of the studios as well as an opportunity to socialise afterwards.
There will be a charge of £12.50 for this visit and refreshments will be provided.
Places are very limited so preference will be given to RTS members who may bring a guest.
This event is now over subscribed - we will be arranging other social events and visits in the spring
