YouView (Project Canvas) and the Digital Television Group (DTG) give an update on the industry's progress towards creating common standards for Connected TV and what this will mean for viewers.
For the last two years, the DTG has been working with participants across the digital TV sector, including broadcasters, manufacturers, platform operators, IP telcos, retailers, government bodies and the YouView partners to specify the components required for a robust and reliable Connected TV product and service.
Richard Lindsay-Davies, Director, DTG will discuss the Group's journey from specifying catch-up TV type services for Freeview HD to the development of the full specification for UK Connected TV and what the Connected TV revolution means for technologists, broadcasters and content owners and producers.
