Miriam: Death of a Reality Star

21-year-old Miriam Rivera was the topic of much discussion in the early 2000s when she starred in reality dating show There’s Something About Miriam, which featured six men vying for her attention and a £10,000 prize.

Once Rivera chose her man, she revealed she was transgender. This caused the show – apparently intended to be positive representation – to go down in the hall of infamy.

This documentary will reveal Rivera’s painful childhood and transition, her rise through the New York Ballroom scene to reality TV fame, and her eventual death by suspected suicide in 2019. Rivera’s close friends believe her exploitation on the dating show is what led to her years of depression.

For those of us who can’t wait for the new series of Wolf Hall, Disney+ is offering an alternate Thomas Cromwell tale, set during the dissolution of the monasteries. Henry VIII’s right hand man is played here by Sean Bean (Time).

When one of his commissioners is murdered in a monastery, Cromwell sends outcast lawyer Matthew Shardlake (Arthur Hughes, Then Barbara Met Alan) to find out who killed him and close the cloister. In a time where beheadings are on the rise, Shardlake knows he must obey Cromwell’s orders, or risk losing everything.

The haunting true story of two victims of The Holocaust falling in love in the direst of circumstances captured readers of Heather Morris’ 2017 book of the same name. This Sky Atlantic series brings their story to screen, as well as dramatizing Morris interviewing Lale and writing the book in the early 2010s.

Yellowjackets' Melanie Lynskey will portray Morris, whilst Jonah Hauer-King (The Little Mermaid) and Anna Próchniak (Warsaw 44) will play Lale and Gita.

Selling the OC is to Selling Sunset what Married at First Sight UK is to Married at First Sight Australia – meaning, more drama, more authenticity and less beating around the bush.

In 2022, the twin brother owners of real estate agency The Oppenheim Group decided to take their business to Orange County after the success of their brokerage in LA. A Selling Sunset spin-off followed them, and it’s now in its third series.

This series the houses just keep getting bigger, as does the tension. Relationships, friendships and jobs are all threatened, as this high-flying team struggle to deal with the pressure.

The Responder

Martin Freeman returns in his role as Chris Carson, a Liverpool-based night responder dedicated to dealing with the worst of the worst of scouse crime.

His partner Rachel Hargreaves (Adelayo Adedayo, Timewasters) is still seething after he jeopardised her career last series, but she is starting to realise she’s got more in common with him then she first thought. Both are trying to return to normality after Carson got a little too involved with the murder of drug dealer Carl Sweeney (Ian Hart, Mr Bates vs The Post Office).
