If yes, do you have a strong interest in the technical and editorial guidelines of news making? Then a place on the RTS Futures 'How to Make the News' could be for you!
This one day workshop will give up to 16 new entrants into the world of news a basic understanding and appreciation of the technical requirements of news making, including camera, lighting and sound skills.
Up to 8 will receive training in camera, lighting and sound by experienced professional John MItchell with the other 8 to receive training in how to write and present news stories for television with UTV Live News Editor, Chris Hagan and UTV journalist Judith Hill.
The workshop will run on Thursday 19th March from 10am - 4pm at UTV.
To apply, please email Orla Sharpe (orla.sharpe@gmail.com) by Tuesday 10th March, with a short blurb (no more than 200 words) on your current interests, experiences and why you think this course would benefit you. If you are successful in gaining a place, the course will cost £10 for RTS NI members and £20 for non-members. A light lunch will be included.
