The Art of Casting
Casting is a crucial part of the production process and requires great people skills, patience and hard work from the casting producer. Real people and their stories are often at the heart of factual and entertainment programming - viewers love to watch their lives and opinions unfold and share in their highs and lows. How do you find great contributors, build trust to persuade them to take part in your show and get the most out of them? This session will delve into the casting producer role, to find out how you can pull together a compelling cast who will engage and entertain audiences.

Speakers:

Jo Somner, Senior Casting Producer, Plimsoll Productions (Handmade: Britain’s Best Woodworker)

Alastair McMullan, Casting Producer, RDF West (Tipping Point)

Claire Parry, Senior Casting Producer, Five Mile Films (The Dog House)

Rosie Smith, Casting Producer, Twenty Twenty Television (Teen First Dates)
