We are delighted to have 2024 Student Award winner, DkIT's Jessica Doherty in discussion with us on Tuesday 15 October.
She will be screening her film Walking the Labyrinth which took home the trophy in the Undergraduate Factual - Long Form category in this year's RTS Student Awards in May.
We will also be hearing from commissioning editors from our broadcasters on how to pitch your short film script.
Jessica Doherty's documentary tells the story of artist Susan, who was born in the Bessborough mother and baby home.
The judges had this to say of the powerful film:“This quietly compelling film was technically superb - with an engaging, well-produced protagonist, and a narrative arc that gripped throughout. Poetic, hypnotic, charming: a simple story, beautifully told."
Following the screening we will hear from commissioning editors from our major broadcasters, with advice on how to pitch your project.
This is a must-attend event for all aspiring short-filmmakers so be sure to get your tickets now!
Tickets are free but please ensure you have registered your details by following the link below. Those who have not registered online will not be granted entry on the night.
