How TV in the South West is covering and coping with the Coronavirus Pandemic

Covering the Coronavirus crisis is proving the biggest challenge to TV programme makers in a generation. Keeping staff safe while maintaining output has forced all in the business to rapidly rethink the way they work. Two leading lights of the South West TV industry, Daisy Griffith, Editor TV News and Online, BBC South West and Rick Horne, Head of Facilities, Twofour Productions share their experience of coping with the challenge in a session chaired by Simon Willis.

Daisy Griffith took over as Head of TV & Online News for BBC South West just one week before lockdown. She and her staff have reworked the approach to newsgathering and output for all platforms including the nightly half hour news programme Spotlight , compressing many months' worth of change into just a few weeks, in order to deliver for new audiences across the region.

Rick Horne and co-workers at Twofour have transformed the way series are edited and compiled as home working becomes the norm. Might the working practices forced through in weeks become the TV way of the future? Please join us for what promises to be a thought-provoking and essential debate.
