RTS National Event

This panel event looks at the impact of natural history programmes on the environment.

On Tuesday 6 December, our panel will discuss whether filming in the Arctic or Galapagos – what are the concerns and considerations? Are they very different to filming in the Scottish Highlands or central London? While out and about, home or abroad – how does TV production ensure it’s as sustainable as possible? In our remote working and virtual world – do crews really need to fly across the globe? How do production companies work with scientists and experts – to ensure the impact of filming is minimised? What as an industry, could we do better?

Panel

  • Dr Wendy Darke - Founder, CEO and Executive Producer at True to Nature
  • Kristina Turner - Assistant Producer and Co-founder of Filmmakers for Future: Wildlife (FF:W)
  • Tom Mustill - Producer, Director and Writer at Gripping Films

  • Chair - Liz Bonnin - Award-winning natural world expert and broadcaster
